Four Cal Poly beach volleyball players were named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans on April 30. Ella Connor and Erin Inskeep were selected as First Team All-Americans, while Logan Walter and Izzy Martinez earned Second Team honors. Cal Poly was the only school to have four athletes recognized on the All-American teams this year.

The recognition highlights the strength of Cal Poly’s program, with both its top pairs earning national attention for their performances throughout the season. The AVCA named a total of 32 players from 12 schools to its first and second teams.

Connor and Inskeep have established themselves as one of the leading No. 1 pairs in collegiate beach volleyball, entering the NCAA Championship with a record of 31-5. They secured thirteen wins over ranked opponents and were honored three times as Big West Pair of the Week. Earlier this week, they also received the Big West Pair of the Year award.

Connor has now been recognized as an AVCA All-American three times—in 2022, 2024, and this year—and recently became Cal Poly’s all-time leader in career wins after surpassing one hundred victories. Inskeep is also a three-time honoree, having achieved more than seventy-five career wins so far.

Walter and Martinez posted a record of 34-3 for the season, including fifteen victories against ranked pairs. They set new program records for both most career wins by a pair and most single-season wins by a pair at Cal Poly. Martinez has now been selected as an AVCA All-American three times in her career and ranks second in program history with one hundred ten victories; Walter is now a two-time honoree with more than seventy-five career wins.

This marks the third consecutive year that four Mustangs have earned AVCA All-American status. According to information released by Cal Poly, no other school in Big West history has produced more All-Americans than their twenty honorees to date.

Cal Poly will compete at this week’s NCAA Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The team’s first round match is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m., Pacific Time on ESPN2 against Grand Canyon.
