Five members of the Cal Poly women’s soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The honorees are graduate student Madelyn Dougherty, seniors Brennan Cole, Jessie Halladay and Camryn Penn, and redshirt junior Sophia Minnite.
The CSC Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Teams recognize top student-athletes across the nation for their achievements in academics and athletics. To be eligible, nominees must have at least a 3.50 GPA, be sophomores or above both academically and athletically, and must have participated in at least 90 percent of their team’s games this season or started in at least two-thirds of them. Each Division I women’s soccer program can nominate up to six players for consideration.
Sophia Minnite received this honor for the third consecutive year, while Brennan Cole earned it for the second time. This is the first time Madelyn Dougherty, Jessie Halladay, and Camryn Penn have been recognized.
Dougherty, Cole, and Halladay are also being considered for CSC Academic All-America honors. The announcement of those awards is scheduled for December 17.
