The City of Paso Robles announced on May 5 that it will hold a Special City Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. in the Norris Room at Centennial Park to review its proposed first official Vision Statement, Strategic Work Plan, staff recommendations, and outcomes from the recent city-led visioning and goals-setting process.

The meeting is intended to establish a foundation for future decision-making by adopting a vision statement: “We envision a welcoming and thriving community with a diverse economy and quality jobs that empower every generation to build their future here in Paso Robles.” When adopted, this vision will guide strategic decisions and align efforts across all city departments.

According to the city’s announcement, the proposed Strategic Work Plan is designed as a comprehensive roadmap combining goals and initiatives developed by staff. These draw from key recommendations in City Master Plans, departmental strategic plans, and prior project studies. The plan aims to implement City Council priorities, track progress across departments, and serve as key objectives for staff through the fiscal year 2026–2028 budget cycle.

Public participation is encouraged during this process so that city priorities reflect both community needs and City Council direction while remaining practical. The framework will continue to be refined with input from both council members and residents before being finalized for adoption at a later meeting.

More information can be found on the City of Paso Robles website or by attending the special meeting scheduled for May 6.
