Chloe Leluge, a sophomore on the Cal Poly Mustangs women’s volleyball team, has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Pacific Region Honorable Mention list for her performance this season. She is the first player from Cal Poly to receive this recognition since Maia Dvoracek in 2022.
Leluge’s achievements come during a notable season for both herself and her team. She ranks second in the Big West Conference and 36th nationally in Division I with a .383 hitting percentage. This performance has contributed to Cal Poly maintaining a position within the national top-20 offenses throughout most of the season. The team is currently ranked 18th as it enters the NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinals, marking its first appearance at this stage since 2007.
If Leluge’s career were to end now, her .372 career hitting percentage would surpass the current program leader in Cal Poly’s Division I era by 17 points. Her season average also places her among the top-10 on Cal Poly’s single-season leaderboard. As a middle blocker, she co-leads both her team and conference with 130 total blocks.
Recently, Cal Poly won the Big West title after defeating UC Davis, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Leluge made only one error on 57 attacks during that tournament and was named Big West Championship MVP. She was also included in Michella Chester’s NCAA Rotation of the Week.
In subsequent tournament play, Leluge helped lead Cal Poly past ranked opponents BYU and USC to reach the Sweet 16. Against BYU, she recorded six kills in the opening set of the first round; versus USC, she had three block assists, extending her streak of matches with multiple blocks to 13.
“Leluge has positioned herself to continue an already legendary career while helping propel Cal Poly to one of the single greatest seasons in program history,” according to Tuesday’s announcement from AVCA.
