Cal Poly’s track and field team will participate in three different meets across Southern California from Thursday through Saturday, according to an April 15 announcement. The Mustangs will divide their athletes among the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Mt. SAC Relays, and the Beach Invitational.

The week is significant for Cal Poly as it provides opportunities for athletes to qualify for upcoming championships and improve their season marks. The distribution of events allows specialized groups—distance runners, sprinters, jumpers, pole vaulters, and throwers—to compete against strong fields at each venue.

Distance runners are set to race at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University starting Thursday morning with Ashlyn Leath in the women’s 10,000-meter open section. A total of 24 Mustangs will compete at Bryan Clay. Over 15 athletes are entered in events at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday and Saturday—including sprinters, jumpers, and pole vaulters—while throwers will take part in the Beach Invitational during those same days.

Six Mustangs currently hold top-25 NCAA marks this season: Travis Martin (men’s hammer throw), Aidan McCarthy (men’s 1,500-meter and men’s 800-meter), Conrad Bernstein (men’s javelin), Lexi Evans (women’s pole vault), Ben Feyrer (men’s pole vault), and Carson Smith (men’s 800-meter). All six are scheduled to compete this week alongside other teammates aiming for strong performances.

Live results for all three meets are available online via links provided by Cal Poly athletics. Updates throughout the week can also be found on Cal Poly track and field’s Instagram (@calpolytfxc) or X/Twitter (@CalPolyTrack_XC).

After this weekend’s competitions conclude, Cal Poly plans to travel down the Central Coast for participation in the UCSB Invite scheduled for April 24-25.
