Cal Poly football has announced the addition of 16 new players to its roster during the December early signing period. The group consists of 15 high school recruits and one junior college transfer.

The incoming class features several three-star athletes, as rated by recruiting organizations such as 247Sports, Rivals.com, and On3 Consensus. The signings address both offensive and defensive needs for the team, with notable additions at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, offensive line, edge rusher, linebacker, and defensive back.

Among the high-profile recruits is Blake Graham from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. Graham was a CIF Southern Section All-State nominee who received offers from schools including Arizona and Colorado. Defensive back Demetrius Simon from McLane High School in Fresno was named North Yosemite League Specialist of the Year and attracted interest from Arizona and UC Davis.

Wide receiver Caleb Clark comes from Arroyo Grande High School with a record of 3,792 all-purpose yards over his career. Linebacker Jarred Geissberger from Marin Catholic High School earned First Team All-League honors on offense and received multiple collegiate offers.

Other signees include Malachi Johnston (Santa Barbara HS), who was recognized for his academic achievements alongside his athletic performance; Finley Torrico (Aliso Niguel HS), a consistent tight end target; Jasen Womack (Oak Ridge HS), who totaled 13 interceptions in his varsity career; Paul Holland IV (Washington Union HS), known for his tackling consistency; Tyler Caldwell (Vista Murrieta HS), a top performer at elite camps; Berell Staples (McClymonds HS), highlighted by Sporting News as one of California’s top quarterbacks entering 2025; Garrett Bertsch (Los Gatos HS); Julian Njelita (Heritage HS); Charlie “Chuck” Eckl (Dana Hills HS); Ryder Barnes (Crean Lutheran HS); Koen Glover (Ventura College); and Savaughn Gentle (Paraclete HS).

Head coach Paul Wulff commented on the recruiting class: “We are excited about this group coming in,” he said. “They bring talent on both sides of the ball and fit well into our program’s vision moving forward.”

This recruiting effort reflects Cal Poly’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its football program through targeted additions across key positions.
