Cal Poly adds transfer defensive back RL Miller from Fresno State

Cal Poly Mustangs football has added RL Miller, a defensive back transferring from Fresno State, to its 2026 roster. Head coach Tim Skipper announced the addition.

Miller played three seasons with the Fresno State Bulldogs, appearing in 23 games. During his time there, he recorded 22 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup. He was also recognized as an Academic All-Mountain West recipient.

Originally from San Francisco, Miller attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. He earned first team All-League honors as both a junior and senior. In 2021, he was named MVP of the State Championship game and received recognition as wide receiver of the year in 2022. Miller was nominated for an award recognizing the best football player in San Francisco and maintained at least a 3.0 GPA throughout high school. Over his prep career, he totaled 32 tackles, five interceptions, and 143 interception return yards on defense.
