Anthony Moore will join the Cal Poly men’s basketball program this fall after transferring from Weber State, according to an April 29 announcement. Moore, a 6-foot-5 guard from Stockton, California, spent last year as a redshirt and will make his collegiate debut with the Mustangs.
Moore’s addition is notable as he brings four years of eligibility to Cal Poly. He graduated in 2025 from Lincoln High School, where he earned All-CIF NorCal first team selection and All-Tri City Athletic League honors. During his senior year at Lincoln High School, Moore averaged 17.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
“We recruited Anthony out of high school and were very aware of his fit at Cal Poly as soon as we saw his name in the transfer portal,” third-year Cal Poly head coach Mike DeGeorge said. “His length, versatile skillset and competitive spirit make him an ideal fit.”
Over the course of 120 games at Lincoln High School, Moore averaged 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting nearly half (49.1 percent) from the floor on more than fourteen hundred attempts. His high school career included a total of 1,758 points scored and an average of 16.4 points per game during his junior season.
Moore joins a Mustangs roster that has seen little turnover recently; only one player has left via the transfer portal over the past two years. The team’s lineup remains largely unchanged from last year’s squad that averaged over eighty-two points per game and ranked tenth among NCAA Division I programs with an average of nearly eleven three-pointers made each contest.
DeGeorge’s remarks reflect optimism about how Moore’s skills could benefit the team moving forward.
